JUBILANT Blue Brazil boss Danny Lennon hailed John Gemmell's late strike as his side moved into second.
Gemmell shattered his former club when he hit the winner with nine minutes left.
Lennon said: "It was a magnificent piece of individual skill by John and the goal was fit to win any game.
"But the overall standard was not as good as we wanted, with some poor passing."
Cowden stormed into the lead in 22 minutes when Marek Tomana fed Brian Fairbairn who fired home.
But Rovers fought back and in 58 minutes Pat Walker levelled.
Beath had the last word though, when Gemmell lashed home the winner in 81 minutes.
Gutted Rovers boss Paul Martin, whose side are rooted to the foot of the table, said: "We've lost four tight games in the past 14 days but no-one would see that as a bottom-of-the-league performance.
"We'll keep working away even though we're last.
"Once we get our first result we'll be able to build on that."
