Arbroath 0-0 Stranraer

THE keepers were the main men as the play-off semi-finalists failed to find their goal touch.

Blues striker Steven McConalogue was denied by a clearing header from Allan Rattray as he prepared to pull the trigger in 20 minutes.

Scott McBride went close at the other end with a 20-yard effort that whistled past Scott Black's post.

Arbroath turned up the heat after the interval and Black had to be on his toes to keep out Paul Lunan before getting down bravely to deny Paul Tosh in 55 minutes.

But the Red Lichties had No.1 Scott Morrison to thank for two super late stops from Ian Cashmore.

Stranraer assistant Colin Lyndsay said: "We could have snatched it at the end with two great chances."

Arbroath No.2 Robbie Raeside said: "A draw was probably a fair result."
