STRANRAER made it five wins in a row - but despite dominating they didn't make certain of victory until the second half.
It was 1-0 in just 28 minutes.
Michael Mullen played the ball to Gregory Tade in the box and he laid it off to Stephen McConalogue who squeezed a shot between keeper Tony Mitchell and the post.
Seven minutes later Mullen's 20-yard free-kick went inches over.
McConalogue fired in a 30-yarder in 36 minutes that Mitchell was relieved to see hit the bar.
Stranraer made sure of the points in 75 minutes. Mitchell's great block denied Mullen but Gibson's corner was met by Alex Wight and his powerful header was on target.
Five minutes from the end Iain Dobbins forced home a Gibson corner for the third.
Stranraer gaffer Derek Ferguson said: "We played with bags of quality on a difficult surface. We thoroughly deserved the win."
Rovers' John McCormack blasted: "I didn't give anyone a pass mark."
