PENALTY KING Ian Harty sealed the points for Stenhousemuir and admitted he'd love a return to full-time football.
The 30-year-old has been in hot form for John Coughlin's side, having hit a goal in every two games since leaving Darlington last December.
He said: "I try to score all the time and I'm now in this summer's shop window.
"I would love to go back to fulltime football - but it's just a case of waiting by the phone to see what happens.
"I have spoken to the gaffer and he knows if nothing comes up I will give everything for Stenny next season."
Graham Gibson gave Stenny the lead when he finished off a superb piece of skill from Jose Quitongo.
Boss Coughlin praised Gibson and said: "The guys ribbed Graham because he's not scored for ages, and they were possibly more delighted at him getting the goal than winning the match.
"This is the part of the job I hate most as I am going to have to release players by Tuesday.
It's horrible, but I have to build a strong team so we can challenge for the title."
Harty had a strong penalty claim waved away after Bryan Duell blatantly pushed himover.
But in six minutes Stenny took the lead when Quitongo jinked into the box to leave Gibson the easiest of tap-ins.
The closest Forfar came to scoring was in 68 minutes when Michael Stuart forced a wonder save from Ally Brown, with the keeper tipping over his left-foot curler.
But Stenny doubled their lead from the spot via Harty after Gibson had been brought down by keeper Andy Reid.
Forfar boss Jim Moffatt said: "We are now rebuilding for next season and there will be lots of changes.
"We had a board meeting and may have more money to spend to get a much better pool of players."
