East Stirling 0-0 Elgin

FRUSTRATED Jim McInally laid into his sloppy stars' dire display and insists they need to up the ante to avoid finishing bottom dogs.

The East Stirling boss hoped his basement battlers could follow on from last week's win over Albion Rovers but his stuttering stars were off the pace.

McInally groaned: "I'm disappointed not to have won after we created a number of decent chances.

"We were average in the first half but looked the better team when we came out after the break.

"At the back we looked solid but I can't hide the fact I'm not happy we didn't get the winner."

After an awful first-half Shire upped the tempo and Andy Rodgers fired narrowly over.

Michael Bolocheweckyj then saw his looping header drift inches wide.

City nearly nicked the points late on but Gary O'Connor scrambled back to keep out Darren Shallicker's deflected strike.
