GRUMPY Davie Baikie laid into his runaway champions and claimed they did little to merit their win.
The Fifers' boss reckoned his side let the fans down and he's told them to get the finger out in the run in.
Chris Templeman opened the scoring for the Bayview side before Dougie Cameron netted directly from a corner.
Sons then pulled one back through Kiernan Brannon soon after in a tight clash.
But Baikie believes his winners need to up the ante in the remaining fixtures.
He said: "I'm disappointed with that flat performance.
"It was an end-of-season match but we have a duty to play well for the fans."
The Fifers opened the scoring three minutes before the break when McManus pounced on Steven Nicholas' poor first touch.
His effort struck the post but hitman Templeman reacted quickest to tap home.
East Fife were two up when Cameron's incredible set piece swerved in at the far post in 58 minutes.
Dumbarton battled back and Brannon's deflected effort sneaked home less than five minutes later.
Sons gaffer Chapman said: "I can't fault my players' effort but if you don't score you can't win. We must do better in the final third."
