LIVID Albion boss John McCormack was left regretting a missed Ciaran Donnelly penalty as his troops crashed to defeat.
Mark Canning curled in a late winner for Dumbarton after Donnelly had spurned a great chance to put Rovers ahead with his spot-kick.
McCormack fumed: "The penalty was not well struck - the keeper saw where it was going and saved it.
"It's annoying as we would have been in the driving seat and it would have been a different game."
Albion almost raced into a first minute lead when only a last-gasp Gordon Lennon challenge denied Patrick Walker a simple finish.
Rovers piled on the pressure and looked set to take the lead in 55 minutes only for Donnelly to fire his penalty straight at David Crawford.
Canning made him pay 20 minutes later with his strike which delighted Sons boss Jim Chapman who said: "We're a better side than the table suggests and deserved our win."
