FORFAR recorded their first win of 2008 as they scrambled home the only goal of a match ruined by the wind.
The conditions meant chances were few and far between.
The first half saw East Stirling go closest when Andy Rodgers sent over a teasing cross and Andrew Brand headed the ball off the bar.
Michele Lombardi then went close for Forfar.
The monotony was broken in 69 minutes when Chris Geddes crossed and Lombardi took advantage of a miscue to scramble the ball over the line.
Forfar gaffer JimMoffat said: "The game was spoiled by the wind but in the second half we deserved to win."
Shire's Gordon Wilde said: "We were awful in the second half so we really can't have any complaints."
