FRUSTRATED Forfar boss Jim Moffat couldn't hide his disappointment after his side's second-half collapse at Firs Park.
The Loons led until the hour mark but ended up suffering a heavy defeat and finished with only 10 men.
Moffat fumed: "Shire battered in four goals in the last half hour - three of which we defended really poorly. "When they drew level our heads seemed to drop."
The visitors broke the deadlock in 20 minutes when Steven Tulloch's knockdown was fired in by trialist Neil McCallum.
East Stirling levelled on the hour as when Kevin McBride's free-kick was headed in by Andrew Brand.
Joe Savage headed Shire in front soon after and Forfar were reduced to 10 men in 79 minutes when Paul Lunan was sent off for kicking Craig Donaldson.
Donaldson saw yellow for his part in the clash - then scored after a great solo run.
McBride added a fourth late on with a lovely lofted free-kick that crept past Forfar keeper Sandy Wood.
Shire boss Gordon Wylde said: "We can't afford to finish bottom again so we're delighted with the fightback and the win."
