Queen's Park 1-1 Stirling Albion

JOHN O'NEILL slammed his sloppy Binos after Ian Watt's late leveller snatched the points from their grasp.

Watt's 84th-minute strike for Queen's cancelled out Ian Harty's first-half opener.

And Forthbank assistant O'Neill tore in to his troops for failing to make the win safe in a game they dominated.

He said: "We were on top and cruising in the first half and our players thought the game was won.

"We simply weren't good enough after the break and we're absolutely gutted.

"To go from keeping possession to giving the ball away so easily is criminal because we had the experience to come here and win."

Harty fired Albion in to the lead midway through the first half when he turned an effort from Chris Hamilton past keeper David Crawford from eight yards.

The scorer could have added a second in 33 minutes but saw his ferocious volley crash off Crawford's bar.

Spiders finally came into the game after the hour mark and got their reward for a spell of late pressure when sub Watt met Ricky Little's deep cross to head the equaliser.

Queen's manager Gardner Speirs said: "We were really lethargic in the first half so we had to shake it up at half-time.

"We kept plugging away and young Watt came on and got his first goal for the club.

"Stirling maybe thought they'd done enough to win but credit to my players for battling to the end."
