CHARLIE KING was top dog for Brechin as his double had Alloa boss Alan Maitland tearing out his hair.
Maitland's men played well in patches but he couldn't believe his side's bad luck.
He moaned: "We tried our best but it's just not happening for us right now.
"Saying that Brechin scored three great goals."
City went ahead in 29 minutes when Gary Twigg dived in to head home Michael Paton's cross. Two minutes before half-time King made it 2-0 with a superb free-kick.
King sealed victory in 73 minutes with a tremendous solo effort before Chris Townsley pulled one back for Alloa soon after.
Brechin boss MichaelO'Neill said: "I'm delighted as we played some great stuff early on but didn't perform to our full potential after the break."
