East Fife 0-0 Brechin City

EAST FIFE boss Dave Baikie admitted it felt like a defeat after watching his shot-shy strikers miss a host of chances.

Baikie's men had the better of the game but couldn't turn their good play into goals.

And the Fifers' gaffer said: "Without a doubt we had the lion's share of the possession.

It's disappointing, frustrating and feels like a defeat."

The home side were first to threaten when Johnny Smart's header was saved by keeper Craig Nelson.

The visitors were fortunate to stay on level terms when Jon Seeley almost headed into his own net.

Brechin almost took the lead when Darren Smith made a good run into the penalty area and his eight-yard strike was turned behind for a corner.

A minute into the second half Nelson tipped a 20-yard Bobby Linn thunderbolt over the bar.

The Fifers looked the most likely to score with Paul McManus, Dougie Cameron and Lloyd Young going close.

But Brechin held out for a point. And manager Michael O'Neill said: "We edged it in the first half but East Fife had the majority of the second."
