BRECHIN 1
QUEEN'S boss Gardner Speirs hailed his young guns after Barry Douglas hit a sensational 20-yard free-kick to snatch a point.
Douglas' screamer with seven minutes left handed his side a precious leveller after Gary Twigg put City ahead on the hour.
And delighted Spiders gaffer Speirs insisted his side deserved to rescue a point.
He said: "The free-kick from Barry was smashing and he showed a lot of confidence to come forward and take it as he is only just in the first team.
"He had a great game and all our young players are showing great spirit. We are finishing games well and if we could just start them a bit better then we'll surprise a few people this season."
Brechin boss Michael O'Neill could not hide his disappointment at the late equaliser.
He said: "We were in control then for no reason just put the tools away and that's left me scratching my head.
"At 1-0 up we were in a comfortable position but have to control that type of situation an awful lot better."
