STRANRAER boss Derek Ferguson admitted he almost quit after being told to sack his No.2 Keith Knox and axe four of his players.
Ferguson watched his side lose to a last-minute Kevin Smith goal and admitted the last few weeks had been the worst of his Blues career.
Mark Campbell headed Rovers in front in six minutes before Gregory Tade equalised in 23 minutes.
Tade's goal looked to have earned Blues a point but Smith struck in 91 minutes to seal the win.
However, Ferguson was more concerned with the way the crisis club was being run.
He said: "What a lot of crap has been going on at the club in the last few weeks.
"I've been told to let Keith go but I've refused - and he's doing it for nothing. I've also been told to let four players go and three guys I shook hands with at the start of the season, I now can't bring in.
"The players are getting no expenses, no bonuses and have been asked to take a wage cut. I'm amazed they even turned up today.
"But they're the best bunch of lads I've worked with. I thought about quitting but they have stood by me so I'll stand by them."
Raith boss McGlynn said: "We ground out a result - something Rangers and Celtic have done for years."
