Great Gregory Turns The Tade

Second Division Stranraer 1 Stirling 0

BLUES boss Derek Ferguson breathed a sigh of relief as Gregory Tade netted a last-gasp winner to sink the Binos.

Tade (below) headed Stranraer to their first three points of the season four minutes from time.

But Ferguson insisted his side earned the win.

He said: "I thought it was going to be one of those days when we hit the post and had a chance cleared off the line."

"But it was a good goal and we were the better team."

Albion gaffer Allan Moore admitted his side were second best. He said: "Stranraer thoroughly deserved to win."

It was the home side who started brightest and Albion's Ross Forsyth almost turned the ball into his own net only for Myles Hogarth to save.

Former Stranraer goal hero Ian Harty then fired in a 25-yard effort that beat keeper Scott Black but his shot flew just wide.

Blues striker Craig Frizzell should have scored five minutes into the second half but was denied by the superb Hogarth.

Just as it looked like the sides would share the points Tade snatched the winner when he met Frizzell's cross to head past Hogarth.
