SUPER striker Ian Diack struck twice to sink Stranraer and give Brechin their second win of the campaign.
It was one-way traffic in the opening stages as the Blues made a sluggish start.
And the visitors took a deserved lead on 21 minutes when Darren Smith split the defence with a pinpoint pass to Diack, who fired a shot beyond Scott Black.
Stranraer's Alex White rattled the bar with a bullet header after 26 minutes. Then Craig Nelson came to City's rescue to stop Michael Mullen's powerful 20-yard drive.
Just after the half hour, Craig Frizzel grabbed the equaliser when he scrambled the ball home from eight yards.
Both sides looked edgy after the re-start. But in 60 minutes Diack came close to netting his second. However, his snap shot was brilliantly saved by Black.
Seconds later, a looping freekick from City's John Ward caught Black by surprise but hit the bar.
Brechin continued to look dangerous and Diack gave them the lead with seven minutes remaining when he coolly lobbed a shot over Black.
