ALLOA boss Allan Maitland insists signing players who were used to plastic pitches paid off for his side this term.
The Wasps gaffer brought in a few people who had experience of artificial surfaces after his club put one down last summer.
And the additions seemed to work after the part-time team, who lost their play-off to Clyde yesterday, had just five home defeats all season.
Maitland said: "We got Ray Jellema who had experience from playing on a similar park at Hamilton.
"Ironically, we lost our first game 6-0 on the pitch. But we had lots of good footballers."
