PROUD Michael O'Neill hailed his troops despite losing a late goal that shattered any hopes of reaching the play-offs.
The Brechin boss watched as David Winters snatched an equaliser to bring their season to a shuddering stop.
But O'Neill was upbeat and said: "I'm proud of the players and the way they performed this season.
"We have a good squad but I hope to add another two."
County gaffer Derek Adams said: "I'm delighted with the point as we brought in a few young players."
County grabbed the lead through Michael Gardyne. But Brechin levelled five minutes before the break when Darren Smith netted.
O'Neill's men took the lead just six minutes after the restart as Neil Janczyk lobbed Joe Malin.
Willy Dyer put City further ahead on the hour. But with 14 minutes left, Andrew Barrowman pulled one back before Winters equalised four minutes later.
