RELEGATED Berwick have sacked manager Michael Renwick just six months after taking charge.
The decision was made after the Borderers were thrashed by Raith despite leading 2-0.
Club chairman Robert Wilson said: "I'm disappointed but decisions had to be made in view of the results.
"It is unfortunate - we hoped he would do a job, but it hasn't worked out.We wish him all the best."
A Fraser McClaren goal in 12 minutes was followed by Scott Gemmill's strike in 27 minutes to put Berwick 2-0 in front.
But Raith hit back when Graham Weir scored just before the break, and he struck again in 64 minutes.
Sub Derek Carcary edged Raith in front in 72 minutes and Robert Sloan made it 4-2 with 10 minutes left.
Lee Bryce wrapped it up with a free header in 87 minutes.
Raith boss John McGlynn said: "It's a relief to be in the play-offs now."
