BRECHIN are dreaming of promotion after a disastrous late blunder by keeper Stephen Robertson gifted them the points and Ross County the title.
Gaffer Michael O'Neill reckons City can join the champions in the First Division after Nicky Walker pounced on Robertson's fumble to boost their play-off hopes and dent Airdrie's.
He said: "We've only lost three since November. County are the best team in the league but we've competed with the best and we've no reason to fear anyone in the play-offs."
City had been behind to Stuart Noble's opener from Graeme Holmes' cutback in just three minutes.
But seconds later Michael Paton equalised from 10 yards.
Noble missed a penalty for the Diamonds in 24 minutes but it was all Brechin after the break and they deserved their winner.
Airdrie boss Kenny Black said: "No excuses. If we keep playing like that we'll be lucky to make the play-offs."
