RUTHLESS Robert Dunn was the hero as Queen's grabbed the points.
Brechin had the early pressure but Queen's got stronger and went ahead in 38 minutes when Dunn fired home an Alan Trouten cross.
City's Darren Smith hit the bar in 49 minutes and in 88 minutes Queen's Paul Paton headed an Iain Diack effort off the line.
Queen's gaffer Gardner Speirs said: "We played some smashing football and also defended well in the second half."
Brechin's Michael O'Neill said: "We didn't do enough to win and have a mountain to climb as far as a play-off place is concerned."
