Ayr 3-1 Queen's Park

NEW boss Gardner Speirs insisted he was impressed with Queen's - despite sinking to second bottom after Ayr made it three wins in four games.

Goals from Alex Williams, Ryan Stevenson and Iain Anderson - his first in Ayr colours - helped the Honest Men leapfrog the Spiders.

Queen's equalised Ayr's opener when Alan Trouten's cross was deflected into his own net by Dean Keenan and Speirs said: "My first impressions are encouraging."

Happy Ayr boss Brian Reid said: "It's another good win. And the good thing is we have four or five players sitting in the stand who'll have to work hard to get back in the shake-up."

Ayr's Stevenson and Mark Ferry of Queen's were sent off late on after a touchline clash.
