SUPER Stephen Dobbie killed off Dundee's unbeaten start to the season then vowed to help Queens clinch a promotion and Scottish Cup double.
The bubbly frontman was on good form on and off the park with his two goals earning Queens' fifth successive win over the Dens men.
And afterwards he admitted Gordon Chisholm's battlers are aiming to go one step further than their heroic achievements last season.
Dobbie said: "Every campaign you try to better yourself from last year. I got 20 goals last season and any striker will tell you that's a good target to go for.
"I only need 17 now to equal that. We finished fourth and got to the Scottish Cup Final so this year we're aiming for promotion and to win the Scottish Cup. That will do us!"
Queens boss Gordon Chisholm hailed Dobbie's display and reckons his side are now firing on all cylinders.
He said: "Stephen is a great finisher and showed that with two well-taken goals.
"I've been telling people that if we play the way we can we'll be a match for anyone and it showed today.
"I am delighted with the lads, it's been a great day."
Queens haven't lost at fortress Palmerston since last December but it was Dundee who started better and in 11 minutes Mikael Antoine Curier sent Chris Pozniak clear to slot home from 10 yards.
Veteran keeper Rab Douglas produced a superb diving save to deny Dobbie from six yards in 26 minutes but was helpless seconds later as Craig Barr drilled the equaliser past him.
It was all Queens now and only a matter of time before they went ahead.
Dobbie obliged just before the break, curling a low shot into the bottom corner of Douglas' net.
And the on-form hitman nearly made it three a minute after the restart only to see his 20-yard lob land on the roof of the net.
All Dundee could muster was Colin McMenamin's long-range strike that almost flew out of the stadium.
But against the run of play Eric Paton almost levelled when he fired into the side netting.
However, the outstanding Dobbie wrapped up victory in 68 minutes when he poked home a perfect cutback from sub David Weatherson.
Dundee boss Alex Rae (left) savaged his defence after their unbeaten start was tossed away along with their position as league leaders.
Rae said: "Queens won't score any easier goals this season.
"Their first came from a punt in to the box and the second when somebody slipped to leave them with a tap-in.
They were poor goals to concede."
