Andy Jackson sets St Johnstone goal target after illness nightmare

ANDY JACKSON is aiming to smash the 20-goal barrier for St Johnstone this season - just weeks after fearing he'd never play again.

The Irish hitkid netted 19 times in his rookie campaign before being rushed to hospital with a mystery illness in April.

Jackson, 20, was eventually diagnosed with a bowel problem but soon endured more anguish.

Andy said: "The blood flow to my legs slowed right down, I suffered horrible chest pains and was taken back to hospital.

"I feared it was a heart attack and my career was over. But now I can't wait for the season and I'm targeting 20-plus goals."
