FORMER Polish Under-21 full-back David Topolski spared St Johnstone's blushes with a late leveller.
A clever lob by John Baird had given Montrose a shock lead in 13 minutes.
Andy Jackson then saw a penalty saved by Mark Peat as Saints tried to hit back.
It looked as if Montrose would hold on but Topolski saw his shot-cum-cross creep into the net in 73 minutes.
