Cowdenbeath 1-5 Dundee

DUNDEE boss Alex Rae watched his side fire five past Cowdenbeath then insisted he still needs at least three new faces. Rae again fielded trialists George Santos and Jim Lauchlan as he bids to beef up his squad for their First Division title tilt.

But he confirmed ex-Scotland midfielder Colin Cameron won't be moving to Dens Park.

Rae said: "We started to whittle the trialists down because we're facing better opposition.

"The two who played against Cowden are still trying to win a contract so we're just taking our time to look at them.

"We're still a bit light and definitely need three or four new signings. We have our eye on a few players so hopefully we'll get something sorted soon. Colin won't be joining though - he's gone back down south."

Dundee took the lead in 32 minutes when strike ace Colin McMenamin headed home Craig Forsyth's cross.

McMenamin turned provider in 53 minutes when his delivery was forced home from close range by Mickael Antoine-Curier.

Cowden pulled one back two minutes later through Paul McQuade but Antoine-Curier almost immediately restored the visitors' two-goal lead when he bulleted home a superb header from another McMenamin cross.

As both teams made a host of changes Dundee began to turn the screw and sub Bryan Deasley - who was on loan at Cowden last season - ran clear to slot home No.4 in 77 minutes.

Five minutes later the same player completed the scoring when he forced home a Freddie Daquin centre.

Rae said: "We were a bit sloppy in the first half but stepped it up in the second.

"The front two are looking sharp and Deasley's flying."

Cowden boss Danny Lennon said: "I enjoyed the first hour then Dundee's fitness made the difference. It was a good experience for our lads and I'm sure we can push for promotion."
