DUNFERMLINE boss Jim McIntyre will give kid keeper Calum Reidford the chance to win a deal on the club's pre-season tour of Austria.
The Pars will play two games during the week-long trip - starting with today's clash against Ukrainian side FC Metalurg Zaporozhye.
Former Rangers youngster Reidford is on trial with the Fifers and McIntyre has promised to give him a game either today or in Wednesday's friendly with Romanians CFR Timisoara.
And if the 21-year-old - who had a spell on loan at Dundee two seasons ago - does well he could land a contract.
McIntyre said: "Calum has been highly recommended. He has shown an appetite and trained well.
"Now we just need to see him in a game then we will make a decision by the end of the week. He will definitely figure in one match, maybe both."
Midfielder Stephen Glass will miss out today through injury but McIntrye is confident he will be fit for midweek.
He said: "Stephen has a slight calf strain but is back running."
FIVE English clubs are chasing keeper Derek Soutar after he was released by Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old has rejected offers from Scotland to try his luck down south and one Championship team plus four clubs in League One and Two have shown an interest.
Soutar said: "My agent has been talking to five teams and I'll be happy with any of them."
KENNY MILNE has revealed why he snubbed a new contract at Falkirk to sign for Scunthorpe.
The 28-year-old defender left the Bairns last week for League One.
He said: "I've played in Scotland for a while and fancied a new challenge.
"Scunthorpe have ambitions of getting back into the Championship and I want to be a part of that."
