Ryan quits Queens

HOTSHOT Ryan McCann is quitting Queen of the South to try his luck finding a new club in England.

McCann found instant fame last season when he netted with the longest shot in Scottish Football - an amazing 84-yard strike against Dundee during the Dumfries side's Scottish Cup adventure.

But the Doonhammers star, who appeared in the cup final showdown against Rangers, has refused a new deal.

Boss Gordon Chisholm said: "We made Ryan a very good offer but perhaps he feels the grass could be greener elsewhere."
