HAMILTON boss Billy Reid is banking on his SPL rejects to keep the newly-promoted side up next season.
Reid hopes the pain of being dumped previously will inspire his new signings to show they belong with the best.
He said: "Derek Lyle, whowe signed from Dundee, was at Dunfermline when they were in the top flight but never got the chance to show what he could do so has a point to prove.
"We've also got Mark Corcoran from St Mirren. He showed flashes of what he's capable of but wasn't consistent.
Maybe that will come with us. We want to prove we belong in the SPL."
Reid also revealed the huge cost of ripping up Accies' plastic surface to meet SPL criteria.
He said: "It cost £450,000 to relay the pitch with grass."
