St Johnstone 5-2 Livingston

MARK PROCTOR rubbished rumours he's set to quit Livi and insists he wants to stay on to help his struggling stars back to the big time. The Almondvale boss saw his stuttering side torn apart in a final day thriller but believes he can turn things around.

St Johnstone edged ahead before the break through Kevin Moon before Paul Sheerin put the game beyond doubt with two second-half penalties.

Leigh Griffiths pulled one back for stunned Livi before Stevie Milne grabbed a double either side of Murray Davidson's consolation strike.

Proctor said: "I had great support from the fans today. It has been a difficult season but I would like to be here next year and haven't been told otherwise.

"The team is looking to the future now and I would like to build on the foundations."

St Johnstone started brightly and made the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time when Moon stabbed home from a David Weatherston corner.

Less than 10 minutes after the break the game burst into life with four goals in eight minutes.

The Livi defence fell apart as James McPake conceded two penalties in three minutes.

He hauled down Liam Craig for the first and Sheerin for the second with the midfielder firing home a spot-kick double.

Livingston pulled one back in 63 minutes when Des McCaffrey set up Griffiths to net from eight yards.

But Saints' three-goal lead was restored immediately as Milne broke free and rounded Marc Lunn to slot into an empty net.

Livi grabbed a second with 10 minutes left as Joe Hamill's corner was met by Davidson.

Again Saints replied less than a minute later when Weatherston set up Milne to tap in. Sheerin last night hinted that he'll stay on at McDiarmid Park He said: "I've been offered a new one-year deal and my family and I are settled here."
