Peaso Set To Agree Deal

ST JOHNSTONE are confident strike star Peter MacDonald will stay at the club despite stalling on a new two-year deal.

The 27-year-old ex-Rangers starlet is out of contract in the summer and was offered fresh terms around Christmas by the Perth side.

But MacDonald, who has been at McDiarmid Park since leaving Ibrox in 2001, has still to put pen to paper.

It is understood the fans' favourite is attracting interest from elsewhere after netting eight times and helping Saints to the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

But boss Derek McInnes is confident Peaso will stay and hopes a deal can be struck soon.
