Dunfermline 1 Livingston 1
DUNFERMLINE manager Jim McIntyre last night revealed goal hero Alex Burke is set to sign a pre-contract with the East End Park outfit.
Burke, on loan from St Mirren, notched the opener for Pars against Livi who grabbed a share of the points through Graham Dorrans.
McIntyre is thrilled at the prospect of having Burke on board as he believes the 30-year-old can make a big impact.
McIntyre (left) said: "Alex is very clever on the ball and will just get better and better once he has a run of games in the side. He will put pen to a pre-contract very soon and the deal will be for two years."
Burke fired the home side into the lead in 12 minutes when he cut in from the left flank, played a one-two with Stevie Crawford and jinked his way past James McPake.
The frontman let fly from 18 yards and his low drive flashed past Colin Stewart into the bottom corner.
Livingston were back on terms in 23 minutes when Dorrans smashed home after Robert Snodgrass' shot was blocked by Scott Wilson and rebounded into his path.
Crawford could have won it for Pars when he broke through 20 minutes from time but just as the veteran was about to pick his spot McPake denied him with a perfectly-timed tackle.
With Livi hovering just above the drop zone manager Mark Proctor admitted his side are not clear of the relegation dog-fight just yet.
He said: "We're still looking over our shoulders a bit.We have a hectic month coming up and need a couple of wins to be safe."
Dunfermline lost Stephen Simmons to a late head knock and McIntyre revealed the midfielder has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
He said: "Stephen has had an X-ray. It was an innocuous challenge, just one of those things."
