Lawrie's Jab Deal Jitters

ST JOHNSTONE star Andy Lawrie is praying an injection can help him avoid neck surgery and earn a new Perth deal.

The 29-year-old defender has been out for a month with a neck problem and went to a specialist in London for treatment.

Now Lawrie, who is out of contract in the summer, hopes the jag eases the pain otherwise he faces an op and three months on the sidelines which would dash his contract hopes.

The ex-Falkirk stalwart said:

"The jag can take up to three weeks to work. If it doesn't I'll go back down for an op.

"I'm just waiting to see if there is any improvement and keeping my fingers crossed."
