St Johnstone V Raith Saturday, Kick-Off 3.00
ALAN MAIN swears getting to Hampden last season and winning the Challenge Cup two months ago can inspire St Johnstone's Scottish Cup run.
Saints were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Celtic in the semi-finals last term.
Main, 40, missed that clash as he was still at Gretna but savoured the winning feeling this campaign when the Perth outfit beat Dunfermline to lift the Challenge Cup.
And he insists both occasions are driving Derek McInnes' men to succeed in the Scottish Cup with Raith the visitors on Saturday.
The keeper said: "When you win any kind of cup you want to go on and lift more silverware. While the Challenge Cup doesn't have the prestige of the Scottish it gave us the taste of winning something.
"That was important for the club and we would love more trophies.
"A good run in the Scottish Cup would be great. We got to the semis at Hampden last season so it's not impossible. You aim to avoid the big guns early on then take your chance against them in the quarter-final."
