Hamilton V Brechin Saturday, Kick-Off 3.00
KEEPER Craig Nelson reckons Brechin have landed the worst possible Scottish Cup draw because Hamilton are as tough as an SPL side.
Nelson wanted to land a big name but instead City have been handed arguably the hardest task outside of meeting a team from the top flight.
Accies are flying high at the top of the First Division but Nelson insists Brechin are also buzzing after going eight games unbeaten before yesterday's match at Berwick.
Ahead of Saturday's clash at New Douglas Park he said: "At this stage you're looking to draw an SPL side for financial reasons.
"You know you're not going to win the cup so you want a team that will bring money into the club.
"If you can't do that you look for a smaller team you can beat for another chance to get one of the big guns but we've got neither.
"We've drawn a side doing well in the division above us - a difficult tie without big financial benefits.
"In the form Hamilton are in they're probably up there with some SPL sides quality-wise."
Nelson reached the 1997 Scottish Cup final with Falkirk but lost out to Kilmarnock.
