Partick Thistle V Dunfermline Saturday, Kick-Off 3.00
MARK ROBERTS plans to put one over old pal Jim McIntyre by wrecking his honeymoon as Dunfermline gaffer with a harsh Scottish Cup lesson.
The pair teamed up to help Kilmarnock lift the trophy 11 years ago.
But on Saturday only one of them will be smiling when they line up on opposite sides in the fourth round.
Roberts is now at Partick Thistle and looking to make it a miserable day for his former team-mate who has just been appointed Dunfermline player/boss.
Whatever happens the Jags ace will always have fond memories of Macca.
Roberts said: "I played with Jim at Kilmarnock and know him well.
"He has done a good job since becoming Pars boss and I'm delighted he has been given the job permanently - I just hope their revival doesn't continue on Saturday.
"My best memory of Jim is him scoring the goal against Dundee United that took us to the final the year we won the Scottish Cup with Killie.
"When we were playing together I never thought he'd become a manager although he always had an opinion and got his point across."
McIntyre is desperate to use his cup pedigree to guide Pars all the way.
The 35-year-old said: "I am lucky that I have been to four Scottish Cup Finals so I know what a buzz it creates for a town and the fans.
"It's a hard game away to Thistle and against one of my old bosses in Ian McCall."
