Livingston 6-1 Morton

EMBARRASSED Morton boss Jim McInally apologised to the Cappielow fans after his side were hit goals hurricane.

A double from Tomas Pesir and strikes from Dave MacKay, Alan Walker, Colin McMenamin and Leigh Griffiths gave Mark Proctor's side a vital win - tarnished only by Ian Russell's penalty.

McInally said: "It was a total capitulation and I'm embarrassed. I would like to say sorry to the fans as the buck stops with me.

"They were my signings out there and I made the substitutions so I'm completely to blame."

Morton, who lost 4-0 here earlier in the season, made the brighter start and came close after just five minutes when Peter Weatherson's free-kick flew inches wide of Colin Stewart's left-hand post.

But McInally's troops were rocked in 16 minutes when they were reduced to 10 men and fell a goal behind in the space of a minute.

Livi's Pesir sent Steven Craig clean through on goal but the striker was hacked down by Kevin Finlayson and ref Scott MacDonald immediately pointed to the spot. Finlayson was sent packing before Livi skipper MacKay tucked away penalty.

The Almondvale club began to dominate and MacKay turned creator for Czech striker Pesir to grab a second 10 minutes from the break on his last appearance for the club.

McInallymade a double sub at half time but his side's resistance ended 14 minutes later when Lee Robinson helped Pesir's shot into the net.

Livi piled on the agony and Graham Dorrans set up Walker who slotted home from 18 yards before McMenamin netted in 78 minutes.

Fellow sub Griffiths grabbed the sixth and Ton's Russell netted from the spot late on.

Home boss Proctor said: "That was typical Livingston and it could have been double figures.

We've got Cowdenbeath in the cup next week and we'll either score six again or lose."
