Yorkston: It Kenny Go On Much Longer

DUNFERMLINE 0

LIVINGSTON 4

DESPERATE Dunfermline manager Stephen Kenny edged nearer the exit door after his sorry side were humiliated again.

Chairman John Yorkston gave the Irishman a vote of confidence last week but even he's running out of patience after watching this latest debacle.

Yorkston said: "If this continues draw your own conclusions."

Following heavy defeats to Hamilton and Stirling Albion this was a game Kenny had to win. But Livi heaped on the misery and Steven Craig bagged a double before Mark Tinkler and Jason Kennedy rubbed salt in the wounds.

Kenny trudged up the touchline to a chorus of jeers and wore the look of a condemned man as he addressed the press after the match.

Although he refused to answer questions on his position the Irishman knows he doesn't have long to turn things around.

Kenny said: "I'm here to talk about the match and I'm not going to go into my position as such.

"But I can't sit here and defend it. The result is something I couldn't see happening.

"There wasn't much in the game and getting the first goal seems to be decisive for us. But that's not good enough. I know we're missing a lot of players but we shouldn't be so fragile.

"When we concede the first goal our confidence seems to be affected and we're not showing the necessary determination to get back into the game.

"When we've gone one up in matches we've looked a different team and that shouldn't happen.

"Pressure comes from yourself as you want to do well. I push myself to achieve things. But what has happened in the last three weeks I couldn't see coming."

Mark Burchill thought he had edged Dunfermline ahead after 24 minutes but the striker was flagged offside.

Kenny was furious with the decision and said: "It should not have been disallowed as Mark was well onside."

Craig squandered three good first-half chances for Livi before heading home Des McCaffery's cross for the opener just before the break.

The Livingston striker was gifted another goal four minutes into the second half.

Sol Bamba collided with teammate Stephen Simmons as he tried to clear and the ball fell to Craig who fired past keeper Sean Murdoch.

Livingston added a third after 66 minutes when Robert Snodgrass slipped a pass to Tinkler whose shot was deflected past Murdoch.

Kennedy completed the rout in injury time when he collected a corner from Snodgrass and curled a shot beyond Murdoch.

Two-goal hero Craig dedicated his strikes to management pair Mark Proctor and Curtis Fleming.

He said: "I'm delighted for them. They are trying to turn the club around and the boys appreciate what the gaffer and Curtis have done.

"They are easy going and want the best for the lads. The players all trust them and they have created a great spirit."

Proctor was thrilled with his first win on the road and hopes it is a turning point for the club.

He said: "We have been threatening to do that for a number of weeks."
