KILLIE star Simon Ford is running scared of another ear-bashing from boss Jim Jefferies if they don't end a miserable Scottish Cup record against lower league opposition.
The Ayrshire men head to Airdrie on Tuesday determined to avoid a repeat of humiliating cup shocks against lower league opposition - like the 3-1 beating from Morton at this stage of last year's tournament.
Ford said: "Maybe in the last couple of seasons because we have been doing well in the league we have taken the cup ties a bit lightly.
"That's the wrong mentality so we must win the battle before we think about playing nice football. I don't want to experience another doing from the gaffer."
