Nelson: Smith Is Hit And Miss

HOT-STOP hero Craig Nelson helped keep Brechin's Cup hopes alive - then slated team-mate Darren Smith for not putting them into the fifth round.

Veteran keeper Nelson pulled off some excellent saves to frustrate the First Division leaders who must have thought they were going out when Smith burst through late in the second half.

Hamilton heaved a sigh of relief when the winger missed the target - but Nelson wasn't surprised.

He said: "Darren is one of the best players at the club but unfortunately he's also one of the worst finishers.

"He did brilliantly to get away from the defender but then tried to lift the ball over the keeper and ended up putting it over the bar.

"But maybe it's advantage us now. They won't fancy playing at our place. The pitch isn't good and the lights aren't good so it should be an interesting night."
