POLISH hitman Marek Saganowski last night confessed it is almost impossible for Leo Beenhakker's side to reach the quarter-finals at Euro 2008.
The Southampton star was left devastated in midweek when English ref Howard Webb awarded Austria a last-gasp penalty.
Ivo Vastic's spot-kick earned the co-hosts a 1-1 draw and put a massive dent in the Poles' qualification hopes.
They now sit bottom of Group B and need a win against leaders Croatia tomorrow to stand any chance of going through.
And even that might not be enough depending on the other game between Germany and Austria.
Saganowski said: "It's still hard to lift morale and confidence after the last match.
"We realise it will be difficult to reach the next stage now. We have to play Croatia who will be confident after beating the Germans.
"It will be a tough one and we've found it difficult dealing with the Austria result.
"The Euros are a big moment for the Polish nation and it was such a pity to finish a game with a penalty so late on.
"Had Austria scored in the first half when they had chances, fair enough. But it was hard to take in injury time like that."
Meanwhile, Polish striker Roger Guerreiro believes it's only a matter of time before Celtic keeper Artur Boruc is snapped up by one of Europe's top clubs.
The Brazilian-born star is adamant Boruc's performances for the Hoops and his country will earn him a big move abroad.
Guerreiro, who scored against Austria in midweek, said: "Artur is one of Europe's best goalies and a key part of our squad.
"He has the ability to play for a huge European club and can go to the next level.
"For Poland, he is the chief of our defence and is one of the coach's main men.
"Beenhakker speaks with himall the time in training and that helps us when we go out on the pitch.
"I was born in Brazil and Boruc has the same kind of characteristics as the big Brazilian keepers like Inter Milan's Julio Cesar and Heurelho Gomes of PSV."
