Couple don't need to live in Cyn now

A LOVE-STRUCK Dutch supporter ended his girlfriend's 20-year wait by unfurling a banner proposing marriage during Holland's 4-1 win over France.

Danny van der Logt's message to partner Cynthia was broadcast worldwide from the Wankdorf Stadium. His banner read: "Cyn, if we win, I will marry you."

Stunned Cynthia accepted his offer and afterwards Danny revealed he had wanted to display his proposal at the Italy match, which the Dutch won 3-0 - their first victory over their rivals in 30 years.

But there were too many Italians in his section so he postponed his gesture until Friday night.

Van der Logt laughed that hewas tempted to move the goalposts.

He said: "I could tell her the offer only stands if we win the whole tournament, but I won't.

"Seriously, after 20 years together, the time is right, sowe will certainly get married."
