ROMANIA sent out a warning to their Group of Death rivals as they routed Montenegro in Bucharest.

Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu opened the scoring in 15 minutes when he latched on to a Cristian Chivu pass before lashing home a left-foot shot.

Centre-half Sorin Ghionea made it 2-0 with a close-range header soon after half time.

Steaua Bucharest midfielder Nicolae Dica then bagged a quickfire double to wrap up the scoring as Victor Piturca's side showed their class.
