CRISTIANO RONALDO could join his Portugal team-mates at Hampden on November 19th in a glamour friendly clash with Scotland.
SFA chief executive Gordon Smith has been in talks with his Portuguese counterparts during the week in a bid to tie up a deal to bring them to Glasgow.
Smith is keen to provide box office opposition for George Burley's side that night and sees Manchester United stars Ronaldo and Nani as the perfect attraction.
He canvassed opinion over playing Argentina but their £1million fee would've pushed ticket prices up to £50.
The Tartan Army were against paying that amount.
But Carlos Queiroz's men would not cost anywhere near that tally and are viewed as sexier opposition with the "Ronaldo factor".
Smith hopes to have a deal tied up this week but negotiations have not been straightforward and there is still work to be done.
Should an agreement with Portugal collapse, Poland are next in line to come to Hampden.
That would also have appeal with Celtic keeper Artur Boruc in the line-up.
And the huge Polish community in this country would help boost the crowd.
