Dutch date is on hold

SCOTLAND may have to wait until next year before they find out the venue for their crucial World Cup showdown in Holland.

George Burley's side face the Group 9 favourites for the first time in March with 10,000 Tartan Army fans set to travel to the Netherlands.

However, the Dutch have still not decided whether the clash will be played in Amsterdam or Rotterdam or even Eindhoven.

A Dutch FA spokesman said: "There is no decision taken yet on the venue for the game. We have until 60 days before the match to choose the stadium.

"There's also no meeting arranged so it could be as late as January that the city is announced."
