Pleat plea for talent

DAVID PLEAT reckons England's club bosses have to ditch the foreigners to bring through their own kids.

Pleat - at the Euros as a telly pundit - is still astonished England didn't qualify.

The former Spurs gaffer insists there are far too many mediocre players coming in from abroad and said: "It's tragic England aren't here.

"We should have qualified We're supposed to have the best league in the world but there are simply not enough Englishmen playing in it."

Pleat reckons England could do worse than look to Scotland for guidance and said: "The standard there has improved dramatically.

"And the main reason is that Scotland are now rearing their own players again."
