World Of Football
IRAN have moved to end their cold warwith FIFA by appointing a new FA president.
The governing body was furious when several politicians were lined up to take charge of the country's football affairs.
FIFA insist football should be free of government interference and refused to recognise the result if a stooge was elected.
But Iran defused the row last week by appointing the non-political Ali Kafashian.
Funny, I can't remember FIFA kicking up much fuss when AC Milan's Silvio Berlusconi became Italian Prime Minister.
