SKIPPER Fabio Cannavaro insists Italy won't play for the draw they need at Hampden.
A point would clinch Euro 2008 qualification for the World Cup winners who are masters at getting what they want.
But Cannavaro is adamant Roberto Donadoni's men are determined to win - the only result that would leave the Scots out of the running for a place in the finals.
And the Real Madrid stopper admitted it would be a disaster if the Azzurri aren't at Austria and Switzerland next summer.
Cannavaro (below) said: "Italy will not travel to Glasgow looking for a draw. That would be a dangerous gameplan and our only intention is to finish the group with a win.
"I am convinced the pressure will be negative for Scotland during the match - in our experience we control these situations.
"If Italy aren't at Euro 2008 it will be a disaster for our football. In fact, it would be a blow for everyone.
"We are superior to Scotland and if we dominate the ball I can't see us losing. But Scotland have been sensational in this group.
"It will be a sporting atmosphere in Glasgow, not hostile.
The home fans help their team but it's not like Turkey or Greece. One of Scotland's biggest assets is their aerial game but we're ready for it."
