KEVIN KURANYI'S early strike in Gelsenkirchen gave Schalke a slender lead to take to Portugal but the clean sheet they kept could prove even more crucial.

Porto were unlucky not to net an away goal but will fancy their chances of turning the tie on its head this week.

With the likes of Ricardo Quaresma, Lucho Gonzalez and Lisandro Lopez in their line-up coach Jesualdo Ferreira will feel confident his side can make the quarter-finals of the competition they won in 2004.
