Con Man Is Too Sly For Sad Sevilla

Spain

SEVILLA crashed to their second successive La Liga defeat as Getafe grabbed three precious points thanks to Cosmin Contra's dramatic late winner.

The UEFA Cup holders looked set to snatch a draw when defender Ivica Dragutinovic levelled at 2-2 with a header after 89 minutes.

But struggling Getafe hit back and Romanian international Contra sealed victory when he nodded home Jaime Gamilan's cross in stoppage time.

The win moves the Madrid side just two points behind Sevilla in the table and is a huge boost in their battle against the drop.

Last year's title contenders could also find themselves dragged into the dogfight after losing to another struggling side, Athletic Bilbao, last weekend.

But Sevilla took the lead last night when striker Luis Fabiano headed home in style after 16 minutes.

They failed to hold on to their lead before half-time though and Francisco Javier Casquero equalised after 32 minutes with a volley from the edge of the area.

Juan Angel Albin then fired Getafe in front 13 minutes after the break with a header from Pablo Hernandez's cross.

It looked like being enough for the win until the late drama saw goals fly in at both ends to thrill the fans.
